USCCA strikes again!
Somehow in the last day or so, a couple of his e-mails made it past my spam filter (I've been sending 'em all straight to the trash). The last one had this little blurb:
For a limited time, we're giving Subscribers of this newsletter a priceless, 100% FREE download report called "What You MUST Know BEFORE Leaving Your House With Your Gun."
Well I figured since they already had my e-mail, I might as well bite-I'm always game for a good read. I clicked on the e-mail for the free download, and try as I might, I have yet to find a free download on their WAY too long sales pitch page-I'm also subjected to a 35 minute diatribe from Tim Schmidt (I'm really starting to loathe that guy-I hit the mute button)-mebbe the free download will appear after the 35 minute sales pitch, maybe not, but I ain't sticking around that long. More than likely the article is just rehashed info that you can find from more informed individuals / sources in many
OTHER places.
I have also listened to USCCA's podcast of their radio show-a whole lot of self-promoting fluff, with very little stuff. I liken it to channel surfing and ending up on WWF - after 5 minutes, you just have to smack yourself upside the head and ask yourself
why the heck am I watching (listening) to this crap?
Hey...it's either that or listening to rap music...suddenly, rap ain't sounding so bad!
:banghead:
Avoid these folks like the plague! From previous experience, I knew they were not a non-profit organization, and somebody at the top obviously went to business school where they were taught to maximize profits at the expense of all else (like conveying good information)!
The NRA can't hold a light to these guys! I opted out of all the NRA stuff sent my way and now receive nary a thing from 'em.
Not that it makes much difference (the NRA is obviously selling their mailing list), but a lot of stuff you get that looks like it's from the NRA is actually from a 3rd party (probably the wine club, DVDs, etc). I once got a
Ten Guns That Changed The World (or some title close) DVD that had no identifying markings on the box. When I ripped it open, I found it was the DVD, and they wanted me to pay for it or send it back. Well, I ain't paying for something I didn't order, and if they had identified it on the box I would have just given it back to the mailman and refused delivery-since I had opened it, I would have had to pay return shipping, and that ain't gonna happen either!
Did a little checking on the laws/postal regulations regarding unsolicited items received through the mail-they sent me bills, which went straight to the trash. When they finally called me, I explained to the nice gentleman that based on the laws/regulations, he was going to get neither money or his DVD back, but since my friends and I enjoyed the free DVD so much, he was welcome to send more unsolicited DVDs if he so desired!
Funny...never heard any more from those folks...
