Realizing that magazines are an integral, working part of most firearms, the ruling argues that magazines are as entitled to the same 2A protection as firearms are. The judge then found that standard capacity magazines are commonly held by law abiding people, and are not unusually dangerous, and are therefore protected.
He further argued that selection of a 10 round limit was completely arbitrary.
