How good does anyone think the WW USA .38 spl 125 gr +P JHP is for CCW purposes. The USA brand in 115 gr 9mm JHP and .45 cal JHP have gotton favourable reviews, considering their price. I'm just wondering if the .38 spl offering is no worse than other "premium" brands out there.

I understand it likely wouldn't perform to the same level as say Speer's 135 gr +p Gold Dot offering, or maybe the Remington GS. But at the price for a WW of 50 I can afford to shoot a whole lot more and be pretty accurate with this round

Anybody heard of any tests done on this round?

I've shot them in a few different 38 snubs and the recoil was mild, flash was also mild and accuracy was pretty good.
Winchesters website claims 945fps velocity and 248 ft lbs of energy. It does not say what barrel length was used to get those numbers but I'm going to guess 4" based on results I obtained from other 125gr 38 +P loads that I have chronographed.

At less than $15 for a box of 50 I think it's a darn good deal and I would be ok with carrying them.

I tried a box from my 642-2,they were accurate
enought at 10 yards.Flash and recoil didn't
seem bad and they all went bang.

Ironically they test this very round on the box o truth website. It showed good expansion and penetration with a snubnose. And it's not very expensive.
I am going to consider it the next time I'm in the market.
