My local Gander Mt has two used Walther P22 for sale. Both are 5in barrels and both look about the same condition. But one is made in Germany and they are asking $299 for it. And the one made in US they are asking $199 for it. Is the Germany one that much better then the US? I can’t understand the price difference.

Are they offering some Vaseline with that price? Seriously, $200 for a used gun that sells for not that much more new is rediculous, as is the $300 ask for der krautenpistole. Ca ca del Goosie, to be sure.

Don't get me wrong, I have a 3.4" model, and it's a fun inexpensive little plinker, which BTW, prefers the more expensive hi-vel ammo to function reliably (prolly din't mention that, eh?) I'd offer no more than $125-150, tops. Use the 'search' function & do some homework before you buy.

perhaps it has something to do with threaded barrels. some people report that their p22 has threads (the 5-inch ones i think) and some report that they don't have threads. california retroactively put the p22 on the assault weapons list because of this, perhaps there's a small difference and they're trying to cash in on this BS.

the 3.4in models are much more affordable because the prices on the 5-inch models always seem to get seriously warped by the dealers.

Well, since ALL Walther P22s are made in Germany and IMPORTED into the USA by Walther America/Smith&Wesson, they are misleading you or blatently falsely advertising.

You can buy new P22s with 5" barrels for under $275. So the price of $199 for the used one is fair. The $299 price is not.

James
