Picked up a used Vaquero today and so far, I am very happy with it. My eyesight is getting to the point that I probably need arm length vision added to my bifocals; as a result I don't shoot much at 25 yds. anymore (don't like all the squinting and head tilting:() However, the Vaquero points really well for me; so after a few rounds at 7yds., I trotted the target out to 25 and kept it there. I've never really been a crackerjack shot at that range (another reason I don't shoot that far very often :D), but I am pleased with how I'm shooting with this Ruger. I think it's a keeper:)

as far as im conserned it just doesnt get any better then a bisley vaquero in 44 mag. If i had to go down to one handgun it would be the same gun as yours with a 4 5/8s barrel

That's a good find, the Bisley Vaqueros are great guns and are getting scarce. I foolishly sold my .44 Mag 4 5/8" several years ago and haven't seen another since. Congrats!

Thanks all:) I can see where the 4 5/8" would be pretty handy.

I've been away from the 44 Magnum for too long (had a super Blackhawk years ago) and forgot what a fine shooting round it is. I have to say the one finger got banged up some yesterday. I've got some 44Spl around here someplace (I have a Charter Arms Target Bulldog - now there's a beast to shoot) and maybe I'll run some of that through it today. I just can't get over how well this gun points and that I can actually see the sights on it so well (I would never have figured that).

Any recommendations on holsters?

Regards,
Greg

IMHO, the Bisley version is the best idea Ruger ever had! I've got a Bisley Vaquero in .45 Colt, and it's gotten to be my favorite "knockin' around in the woods" handgun.

I need something very close to this revolver, is there such a thing as a bisley grip frame with adj sights in .44mag?

Eastwa, very nice, and those grips are beautiful!

Moonclip, Ruger has made .44 Mag Bisley Blackhawks in the past, I don't know if they make one currently.
