I've been using an AAC Ti-RANT 45 quite a bit recently and decided to try it "wet" today. Remington 230gr MC, a SIG P220 Combat and a dry Ti-RANT is easily hearing safe with impressive sound reduction, but after running some water through it using a hose and shaking it out I was amazed by how quiet it is. AAC claims a 30dB sound reduction dry and 41dB wet .... I need to try grease next.

As a data point, the SIG P220 Combat hasn't missed a beat with over 200 rounds suppressed, no cleaning and no issues. Taller sights would help but it's easy to use the top of the suppressor to sight the pistol.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and check out wire pulling gel. That is what AAC reccomends and what I have in my AAC 9mm Tirant. I bought a mediciane dropper for kids that I use to draw a little bit out of the bottle and spray it into the tube and then shake the tube like its a shake weight several times to get it evenly coated.

You will notice a difference and it will last a lot longer than if you were using water before.

I shot with water for a while but it got very messy. It does not last long. I still have to try gell.

I never tried the gel but i remember reading water is quieter the only advantage to gel is it dont dry out like water

Gel is equally messy in my experience. It just lasts a little longer than plain water. Don't wear any clothes that you value.

I hadn't seen the messiness of the gel. The water definitely came back on you but like someone said it dries out in 6-7 shots.

I hear you. I recently wore a yellow polo shirt when firing an open bolt sub machine gun :(

Will liquids or gels work in rifle cans? Thanks.
Never use a liquid with a supersonic centerfire rifle cartridge. The rapid cooling and expansion of muzzle gas and the liquid (and possibly reduced volume from liquid that does not evaporate) can exceeded the design pressure of the silencer body.

i use the gel and further, i made my own applicator so i can put it in the blast baffle for best results
