This is a question for those of you that have ACTUALLY shot the Match trigger in a USP. How does it compare to other tuned triggers that you have shot?

Personally I love mine, but I have limited experience with great triggers so I just want to know how you guys think it compares to high end triggers you have tried.

P.s. If you want to hate on HK, do it on another thread.

Edit: Tactical* lol, stupid iPhone keyboard.

I own a USP Tactical .45. That is the only polymer gun I own and only non-P7 HK I own. The match trigger is pretty nice, but I don't have any other polymer HK like a stock USP, P2000 or P30 in which to compare. I can tell you its not a 1911 or P7 trigger, but I don't have many rounds down range with it yet. I bought it with the desire to get a can at some point, but may give up on that. We'll see.

Bottom line, it is a nice trigger, but I've had better. I'd like to hear from those that can compare it to a standard USP.

It's okay/ I wouldn't order a gun with it and spend extra money to have it.

Now, after Bruce Gray monkeys with it, it's fantastic.

from my limited experience with it, i would say it has the best break of any da/sa gun i've ever fired, but the travel is somewhat long. the reset is also pretty long for a "match" trigger.

The reset can be adjusted on the Tactical by adjusting the trigger stop. If it's too far use the method below from the manual.

"The trigger stop for the USP Tactical pistol is located on the trigger and limits the trigger travel immediately after the hammer has been released. It is adjusted by use of the 1.5mm allen wrench equipped with the pistol.

By turning the 1.5mm set screw clockwise, the over-travel of the trigger can be reduced. Care must be exercised in making this adjustment as the screw can be adjusted far enough to prevent the proper operation of the double-action and single-action trigger."

I own one and swear by it. A marked improvement over a regular USP and a tremendous improvement over a P30. (HK45 is pretty similar.) I'd say it's just as good as a P7, just different. It will, however, never approach the sweetness of a finely tuned 1911.

That's my problem. For the same money, I could have bought a pretty nice 1911 with a very good trigger. Plus, the plastic, toy-like "thunk" when dry firing (with a snap cap) is just disturbing.

It is a nice, well made pistol. I wish it had an aluminum alloy frame.

<chuckles> Light triggers are over-rated. Everybody seems to think they need a 2 pound trigger with no reset to shoot well, and you just don't. Sure, you'd have a nice trigger if you'd bought a 1911, but you'd also have a gun that needs more attention than a Hollywood trophy wife.

I hated 1911s before hating 1911s was cool. I own 4 now, ya ain't missin' anything and you made a good choice.

I can almost make identical groupings at 25 yards with this gun as I can with my Les Baer TRS. And this gun is a heckuva lot less picky on what it likes to eat and is much easier to maintain. (And cost half as much.)
