Ok ive tried a few searches and didnt get the info i wanted

ok briefly what i think i know... USA doing a trial for new contract on 45acp pistols, but they suspended it indefinately and ordered 500,000 more m9's


is that part correct and also can someone make a list of the pistols involved in the test?

Yes, SOCOM was trying to replace the M9 with a 45 cal design, about 60K pistols. Big Army jumped on the program, adding another 600K weapons but slowing down the procurement process and adding a bunch of Big Army peculiar requirements. Program eventually tanked. This is all old news from 5 years ago.

SOF side is still looking for an M9 replacement but whether in 45 or 40 is being debated.
