Too my knowledge, the UZI has always used a stamped sheet metal receiver.
That was one of the major design features that set it apart from other designs of the time and made it so cheap for Israel to produce in large numbers.
The biggest difference between the A and B model are the sights. The A does all the windage and elevation adjustment using the fromtsight and requires a tool. The B adjusts elevation on the front and windage on the rear and can be adjusted using a simple punch.
