Where can I find out where the candidates stand on gun issues?

Apologies in advance for the political nature of the thread.

Personally, I feel they're both OK on the firearms issue; Deeds, being from the country, comes across to me as a much more thoughtful, humane and sympathetic person than his opponent. However, his rural background will cost him votes in "sophisticated" northern Virginia.

For what it is worth, when the two ran against each other for State Attorney, the NRA gave Deeds the better rating, but now this election, they are giving it to McDonnell. Both have come out saying that they would support some form of Sunday hunting in VA as well.

Deeds has shifted his position to now support closing the "Gunshow Loophole" and keeping the 1 handgun per month.

McDonnel won't support legislation on the "Gunshow Loophole" and wants to abolish the 1 handgun per month law.

VCDL has extremely good info and a great newsletter they email on a weekly basis or more often if they see a need for it.

Most importantly Deeds will never support a state assertion of its 10th amendment powers whereas McDonnell will. If you want to keep the ATF out of intra-state transactions you need a leader who will stand up to the feds.
