Valid rust concern?

Soon the weather here in NC will get mighty hot.
And when it's hot, I sweat....a LOT!
That being said, I'm wondering if carrying my PF-9 IWB style via the belt clip is such a good idea.
I like the comfort of the clip, and am reluctant to add bulk via a true IWB holster, but can't help wonder if a holster of some material or other might offer superior protection without compromising comfort too badly?

Horsehide holsters...And wipe your firearm down at least once a day, like in the evening before bed. with a gun oiled rag...I use old cotton T-shirts for this...
