Hello guys,
I just bought this Valmet Petra a week ago. When i was researching it I had a real hard time finding picures of the parts and picures of it disassembled, so I thought I would do other people who are considering buying one a favor by post some picures. What I needed was picures of the receiver without a stock on it so I could find aftermarket stock options
This one is in 308w and I got it for 1000$ with 3 20rnd original magazines and original scope mount/rings.
The Petra/Hunter is basically a Valmet m78 and most parts are interchangeable as I understand it.
My plan is to move the trigger forward, put in a Tapco G2, pistolgrip and a self made buttstock as well as to convert some steel hk G3 magazines for it, so I don't damage the originals as they are worth quite alot of cash. I found that M1A magazines may be possible to use in it, but that would require modifiactions to the rear of the magwell. Possibly some extending of the Feed Lips of the magazines.
The buttstock is fixed to the receiver quite simply it's just a bolt that is screwed in with a 13mm pipe. The recoil pad is attached with 2 long starhead screws. The dustcover and barrelshroud is fastened with flathead screws, 3 on the dustcover and 2 on the barrelshroud.
