For those of you who have been asking about Jardine's latest.. and specifically what the hard Chrome Valtro's look like...

I have some good news......

I just received a disk chock full of super high res photographs of both Valtro Enhancements and some of the Jardine's Custom work that has heretofore only been seen in public at the Shot Show....

Here is a little taste :

I will be processing these photos (sizing them down to a reasonable download size) and putting them up on the upcoming Jardine's Custom site and the Valtro Site in the comng weeks...

Enjoy!

Charles

VERY cool. Been waiting to see the hardchrome version.

If you'll excuse me, I must try to find my wallet. I think it's hiding from me under the bed again. :D

I have been really wanting to get mine hard chromed - was not sure if I would do just the frame and keep the slide blue or what.

Now I think I will probably do the whole gun. What does Jardine charge? Like $175ish?

Yes Sir Pendragon SIR!

*mock salute*

Just for you Pen :)
Was not sure who you gave the order to.. me to get the Jardine's new site up, or Sven to buy his new Valtro and take pictures.....

Soooooooooo.... I clipped a piece of one of the photos off... just for you. :neener:

We can't rush Sven... now can we ;)

The windex for your monitor screen is in the kitchen...

Are they gonna do something...

about that humongous rollmark on the slide? Everything else on the gun is so tasteful and understated, then there's that huge billboard rollmark. Grinding would be a good start! :(

I dont mind the roll mark so much.

I love the blue finish, but I would like something much more durable.

Based on what I am seeing, I would like to go with full chrome. Possibly shiny in a few places.

And Charles - thank you!

If I were to get a HC valtro.....

I already have the blued valtro, but if I were to get the HC model, could I interchange the slide and frames to get a two toned look? The slide-to-frame fit is real tight (as well as the slide stop) to begin with, could these be interchanged easily. Gotta stop looking at all these pictures :D

I would not try it.

Jardine hand laps the slide to frame fit on each one.

It may actually work, but the "off" fit could cause abnormal wear if you did it for very long.

Why not just get the frame HC'd?

I would like to leave my slide blue for looks, but I am thinking that long term, going all HC will be best.

Will Jardine grind the "1998A1" rollmark off it? :D

Who is doing the hard chrome for the Valtros, anyway? It looks super.

The HC version is the regular version.

You pretty much buy a Valtro, then send it to Jardine - he gets it HC'd and then touches it up a bit so it still fits right.

His guns are tight enough that the extremely thin layer of hard chrome could affect the performance if not gone over.

I was told that its about $175 +/- to have it done.

I'd be surprised if Jardine is actually doing the plating himself, though I'm sure he does all the metal prep, etc.

That satin chrome job IS goregous, no doubt about it. I hope MY hard chromed 1911 comes out as nice. :D

As Promised.....

..And this time its not a 'setup' :)

The above URL goes to a page that is - IN PROGRESS - that is I have not completed it. It shows one of Jardine's Custom Valtros in Hard Chrome and with several other custom enhancements. While it is not a straight Vanilla Hard Chrome version of a Valtro it should give you a very good idea of generally how they look in HC.

I think you'll enjoy what you see.

Beware! the larger downloads are quite simply HUGE.

They do make great system wallpaper though :)

Wow.

Thank you VERY much.

HC = definately.

The only other enhancement I noticed was the magwell.

Anything I missed? Ok, maybe the grips...

I think the Cocobolo look better than plastic.
