Value of a Discontinued Spyderco?

I have an original Spyderco Manix, not the Manix 2 model. I can't find any info on this knife, everything reverts to the 2 model.

I don't see any on Ebay either, again just the 2 model.

I bought it years ago in what appears to be unused condition, never out of the original box since I've had it because it feels too heavy to carry, at least to me. This is a substantial knife with a thick blade.

It's numbered, along with the box, which I believe means it was originally sold to a collector club member. I don't know if that has any affect on value, up or down.

Since I'm not using it I'd like to sell it and buy something more useful to me.

Anybody have an idea as to value, and where would be the best place to post it for sale?

Not sure.

The last Manix knives I bought had olive - green G10 scales.

That was something like ~ 10 years back.

They were biggish, but still pocketable knives.

They're great knives, but as you say, heavy. I gave mine to a staff member here.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but here’s the box. Matching collector number was written on it when I received it, don’t know if that’s factory.

I would suggest sending it to Arizona Custom Knives with a $300 asking and see how it goes. They'll take their percentage when it sells, but you won't have put any effort in selling it beyond sending to them.

Blade Forums is another thought. They have a very active knife exchange, but you do have to pay for a membership to sell knives there. $25.00 if I remember.

You can't participate in Knife Swap until you build up enough "karma". I found that out when I realllllllly wanted something to fit a niche in my collection.
