It's 6.5" barreled, original grips and everything. Serial number is S1694xx. About 90% Plus bluing. Looks fairly good for its age. Been told it was made in 1957. About what should I expect to pay for it? And, no, it's not the one that somebody's been peddling on Gunbroker, but the serial number is only a few digits off.

Here's pictures of the one on gunbroker, not the one I've been offered. I'm not entirely sure that my grips are like the grips on this one. I don't think they have the diamond in the center.

Well, that is a couple hundred dollars of difference right there. You say original grips and everything. What is everything, box? Tools? If you have different grips than the ones in the pic. or with out the diamonds, than they are not original to the gun. Too many variables to give a solid answer at this time. We need pics.

Well, I don't have pics, all I have is my memory. There is nothing with the gun but the gun. I remember it had a yellow insert in the front site. I didn't look for the diamond, but there or not there, what's it worth. I posted the pics of the other gun because I had a hard time telling the difference when I found this on Gunbroker.

This one with no box or papers was $1100.00, without the coke grips deduct at least $200.00, maybe more.
Add original box and papers and from what I've been told they can go as high as a couple thousand.

Thanks for the info. It did not have the coke bottle grips and was a 6.5" gun. They wanted $550 for the gun... I passed. Anybody want it? There was a weird area where the finish was missing on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard window. Half the size of a pencil eraser. weird. Don't know about the yellow sight insert either.

$550.00 sounds pretty good, you could buy cokes for $200.00 to $300.00 and still have the gun below what alot of folks are paying.....or you could just pick up some eagle heritage grips, they look like cokes w/o the medallian, I've seen them with medallians added and they look pretty good. Around 90 bucks.
You'd have to change the yellow sight insert to red as well.
Prices for the cokes and these guns have gone skyward lately, if ya wanna play ya gotta pay;)

4 screw 6.5 barrels put it in the mid 1950s, available for say early 1956. First 500 made in 1956. In 1957 model disgnation changed to Mod. 29.

Could be a 50% premium (up to) on these guns. My book says to have them individually appraised.

With only 90% bluing and non-original stocks then a lot of the collector's value is gone. $500 to $600 would be a very good price. The yellow frontsight insert was also a factory item. Though not seen often some guns were ordered that way.

I didn't realize they offered the yellow sight in the 50's, I've never seen one on those guns.....always learning something new here:D

The majority of the yellow sights I have seen (and that wasn't very many of them) were on the M27s and a very few M57s.

Hmmm. The yellow insert looked like it was as old as the gun. Hard to find 44's up here in Alaska that haven't been used significantly. This one was pretty good for a work gun.
