Hey everyone,

This question was rolled into another thread I started about a re-barreling project for my AR15. I figured a lot of folks may not be interested in what I was asking, but they may have an answer for the following separate question.

I am a college student so my fun-fund is not very large :uhoh:. I would need to sell my current barrel and bolt to help offset the cost of new ones for 6.5 Grendel. What would be a fair price for my White Oak barrel? It is a 1:7 twist, is 18" long, has a mid-length gas-system, has the 223 "Wylde" chamber and only has about 600 rounds through it (pretty much zero rapid-fire, just some here and there to test function, no mag dumps or anything like that). The bolt is a JP Enhanced bolt and has a lower round-count than the bbl, maybe around 400.

This barrel/bolt setup is very accurate and will hold sub-.5MOA groups as long as the wind dies down and I use a good rest with my handloads (75gr Hornady BTHP over 24.4grn Win 748)...I could provide a test-target to anyone who doesn't believe me

Thanks!

I just ordered a WOA 18" rifle length barrel for $269 at Brownells. So lightly used - $200ish? Not really sure.

That's about what I was thinking. $200 shipped seems pretty fair for the barrel. The bolts are about $120, so I was thinking maybe $80 or so.

It's the SPR Profile. No front sight. I'll probably be keeping the DD low-pro gas block for my next bbl. It's .750" under the block.

Would seem to me that White Oak would be less durable than steel....possible catching on fire with only a few rounds......hard maple might be more durable:neener:

Friend, if you have an AR upper that shoots under half MOA, that thing is worth a bunch of money all put together.

Advertise it as a complete unit, and I would expect to get 500 600 or even 700. What did you pay for it altogether?

I have an Smith & Wesson, and it is not much better than 1.25 in my way. Maybe one in my way.

Take it easy on the coffee, 115fmj..don't want anyone gettin' hurt around here ;)

I've had that thought too, docsleepy. It has a Daniel Defense Lite 14" rail, bushmaster upper, and a DD low profile gas block. The thing is, is that the upper fits VERY well with the bushmaster lower. The rifle started as a neglected varminter, but I guess they at least got the receiver fit correct.

I'd sell the rail as well for around $300 and get a lighter-weight tube. I have no need for rails other than the looks.

Because of the receiver fit, I'm really leaning towards selling it piece-by-piece unless someone wants to fork over $1k for it lol.

How hard is it to find an upper that fits with little slop? Can I just go to the shop and try a bunch out?

That is just the bolt ?? Not the BCG 225 bucks for all if only the barrel and bolt. barrels comes with the gas block on it?
