Anybody out there shooting the new Weatherby Vanguard S2? I've been waiting to see some reviews on the web but not much comes up. I'm having a hard time deciding if I want the S2 or Savage Weather Warrior for my next rifle.

I would look very hard at the TC Venture A real steel at $400.00 with the $50.00 rebate untill the end of this month. Best barrel of any of them, short bolt lift. Just a great gun.

I looked at one a couple weeks ago When I got my Icon it was a nice rifle
I just liked the short cycle bolt in ICon the S2 had equal feel

Im kind of soured on vanguards but will probably pick another one up when they start shipping the 240 wbys. I allways wanted to play with that round and was never willing to buck up the price of a mark V.

I just called to see if I could find a T/C Venture and was told they had to send them all back on a recall....hopefully that rebate gets extended.

I haven't shot one yet, but I got a couple in the shop last week. The stock is much nicer than the original Vanguard, and the trigger is definitely an improvement. And they are all guaranteed sub-moa. They are heavy though, a .243 tips the scales at 8lbs.

Since they were announced I've thought that the S2's seemed like they would be a great mid range hunting rifle. The examples that i've been able to play with at my gun store seem to be of solid quality, and well put together. I'll probably pick one up when time and money permit... possibly a 257 Roy...

By the way, Did anyone else notice an increase in the MRSPs on their site when they introduced the full line of S2's for 2012? I could have sworn that when they were advertising just the basic rifle and the stainless, the MRSP for bot was lower...

I'd like to have one in 270 win. I just don't care for the synthetic stock. But having had a vanguard in the past, I know they should be nice especially since they are guaranteed to be sub moa.

I handled one at a local shop and was impressed. I've got a Vanguard and have been very happy with it so I'm a Weatherby fan. The stock was nice to handle, 3 position safety is nice, and the trigger is improved.
