What kind of quality is the Weatherby Vanguard Varmint Special rifle like? I hear pretty good things about these rifles but I would like to know from anyone who has shot one of these or owns one if they are a quality rifle. Any input about this or any Vanguard rifle would be great.:)

I have one in .223 Rem. I did added an aftermarket Timney 1.5 pound trigger with 3-position safety. It is very accurate, solidly built.

Thanks for the reply. The one I want is chambered in .223 as well. I'm just looking for a rifle I can throw in the trunk when I go up north and shoot at targets at about 100 yards and maybe do a little hunting. I don't need a sniper style rifle, just something to play around with. That's why I like this one, decent accuracy, 5+1 rounds, and it's price. I just which there was more info and reviews on this rifle. But the few that are out there seem to be positive.

Weatherby rifles have always stood for quality, and my reasoning is, if they put their name on it, the Vanguard-Howa must be a well made rifle.
