I'm going to buy one of these for .223 loading with 52 to 55 Gr. bullets. Plan to shoot in a bolt rifle with a 1 in 9 twist. Accuracy shooting at paper targets from a rest at 100 and 200 yards will be the main goal. When I'm not metering the charge by hand, I'll be using a RCBS uniflow. Is one better than the others for my use?

I've tried Varget and H335 for my TC Encore .223 using 52gr bullets. I've had better accuracy results using Varget. However, Varget doesn't meter well for me using the RCBS Uniflow. H335 meters great for me. My recommendation would be to pick up a lb of each and see which one works best for your gun. There was a recent poll for the best .223 powder and these 2 were voted the best. If you're lucky, H335 will provide the most accurate load and you'll be able to use your thrower. I just picked up a set of Lee dippers and hopefully one of those will consistently get me within a few grains of my pet load using varget so I can top it off with a trickler by hand.

Good Luck!

H335 is all I use for 223/556 25 gr for 50-55 gr bullets.

:cuss: Benchmark meters alot better then varget and is more accurate and cleaner than H335. I use benchmark in my progressive without a hitch and terrific accuracy.:what:

You didn't ask, but Win 748 always worked well for me in sub-55gr .223 loads. I kept wanting to try H335 but never found an excuse.

I have gotten the best groups with 55gr bullets and benchmark. I havent used H335 so I can comment on it but I have used Varget and prefer that for my 308 instead of 223

I've never used Benchmark. I prefer H335 over Varget by leaps & bounds. I have not gotten great accuracy from Varget in any of my guns. I have gotten a little less the 1" with 55gr V-Max but it cost to much to not do any better then that.

Varget and a 55 grainer really shoots tight in my .22-250. I'd guess you could work up good loads as well for a .223.
