Christmas came early! (We're traveling so we did Xmas this morning before saddling up so to speak). Wife got me these electronic muffs cuz Amazon said they were the best! And we all know that Amazon would never lie to us(they are on the interwebs, bound by the 'no lies in cyberspace' oath).
Does anyone have any experience with this particular brand? Also, as these are my first pair of electronic muffs, what can you all tell me? Usage tips for example? Limitations?
They are Venture Gear - Clandestine.

Over the years I have owned and still own several different types and brands of electronic muffs. I've come to find that many of them have a fairly low Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), some are more resistant to wind noise and all have a different point at which the sound suppression system kiscks in. I have no experience with the Venture Gear make and model, but at their price point am interested in hearing what you think after some serious use. Since I hunt deer with big bore handguns, I use my electronic muffs for hours/days on end. Comfort and fit makes a big difference when walking thru brush with them on my head or sitting on stand all day wearing them. I have had very good luck with my Walkers, not so much with those electronic muffs that regularly sell for under $50 or my only pair of Peltors. The Peltors had a relatively low NRR and did not do a very good job of suppressing my .460 in the woods or at the range. The technology has gotten a lot better and the cost has gone down considerably since I first started top use electronic muffs. I would assume this is only going to continue. For them to work well, they have to fit your head and seal around your ears well, this is probably more important than anything. I've also found that Battery Life can vary greatly and those that have an auto shut-off can be an ear saver come the second morning hunt.
