very disturbing...

my take on it....

they were stalked.... their patterns identified and they were assasinated in revenge for something....

I hope the woman makes it and can identify the serpants.

I want to make sure they get three hots and a warm cot, free cable t.v. and the best health care my money can buy them.... all while never working another day for the rest of their lives.

Who knows how this really went down? A lot that doesn't quite add up in the story (and I've learned not to trust the veracity of news as absolute).

That much said, it doesn't change the basic Farnam fact that the rest of us should still be watching our six, regardless of our day jobs.

I'd sure want to be extra-cautious if anything in my past employment record might have cultivated enemies.

The 2nd article is insinuating it was some type of gang/MS-13 initiation killing. Apparently it is not unheard of in that part of the country.

I thoughts and prayers are with the family. Hopefully the wife recovers enough to identify the murderers.

Good post SM

The most dangerous times for a business is when they are opening up, and closing.
Every criminal , even if they cannot read , can figure out when a business opens and closes.
Retail for example often has employees arrive early to get the store ready before customers come in. /QUOTE]

Our Security Company received a panicky call to supply an armed, uniformed Security Officer, and a marked vehicle, every day, last 3 hours of the day.

Reason, the top sales person was a very attractive Lady, looked every bit the part of a Diamond sales person, which she was, had stated she was not walking to her car through the unsavory characters, with the foul language and the noises one more day without protection (armed protection) as this came under the heading that our shotgun waiver was obtained, I got the job, complete with my trusty ex Police Mossberg 12 gage.

Store closed at 8PM, all stock packed away in huge vault by 8-30, I went out first, followed by the staff.

Two occupied cars in the parking lot, one individual sat on the tailgate of wee P/U (he was the vocal one prior to this night) last one out set alarm, locked door.

When all engines started, all lights on, I waved good night, staff left.

Me, Shotgun, and a 9mm Glock 19 left as well, not a comment, not a sound from the parking lot! Problem cured. We kept that contract for 6 months, then a cheaper Company took over, we moved on.

Guns don't deter? Big black ones with the word SECURITY in white on the stock seem too.

i had breakfast with a close friend of 20 yrs this weekend, who lives a few houses away from the victims, and regularly walks those paths. the neighborhood is a high-end idillic place.

i asked via email the day it was in the news then again in person that day over breakfast if he'd reconsidered getting a firearm (ans: "my wife won't allow it")

i had my jacket off, shirt tucked inside my IWB CompTac with my G19 showing the top third. and he and i discussed the ins/outs of carry and his position on the general topic. when i motioned down with my chin at my G19 he was shocked. and i thought (hoped?) it may have influenced him, in that it can be worn as a tool, without making one a freak; hell, un-concealed he didn't notice it until i made him look at it, and i was up for scones at least twice.

a mutual friend 2 houses down, he says, has many shotguns throughout his home for his wife to use when he's out at work. me: sounds smart. him: sounds over the top. me: you never know where or when... can't you see that even now?

lead a horse to water...
