Vibrates but media won't Tumble

My FA tumbler always just vibrated the media. I tired everything from tightening the bowl to varying the amout of media and brass. I have four tumblers and the difference between this one and my others is that my others have a cone in the middle. So I took a small plastic cup and drilled a hole in the bottom. I then put it on the threaded rod. Now it tumbles.
Could you post a picture of the cup in the tumbler?

If adding counter weight, you might consider some issues that can result from doing so.

Too much weigh will slow the VPM's, thus decreasing the cascade effect.

And if it's not a ball bearing motor, it might damage the motor. I guess when the tumbler starts walking off across the floor, you probably have too much counter weight.

Like a couple guys have said - just make sure the counterweight is secure. After 20 years, my Lyman turbo 1200 would sit there and run but no vibration... one gob (technical term) of J.B.Weld on the counterweights to hold them in place, fixed it. It has run another 10 years since then.

Sorry but I cant post any pictures at this time. MY flip phone wont allow it and my digital camera has been missing in action since vacation.
The cup is just a stadium type plastic cup that came from a restraunt. I cut it about halfway down and put a hole for the rod to go through the bottom. As a side note this tumbler still did not tumble as fast as my dillion and cabelas (berrys) tumblers. I did not buy it new so I cant say for sure what it's history has been.

I bought a FA tumbler about 6 yrs ago and after only a few months had the same roblerm, it vibrated, but not at the same "intensity" as before. I called the shop where I bought it and they sent me a pre-paid label to ship back the old one. A week later they sent me a brand new one. been all good for the past 6 yrs.
contact the dealer you bought it from. You have nothing to lose.
