Video - Making and shooting home made C&B revolver wads

Another great video, Mike. I just did this about a month ago. I bought a punch set from China, er, Harbor Freight, some felt from Durofelt, and mutton tallow from Dixie to go with my beeswax pellets (Amazon) and paraffin. I didn't lube the felt before punching out the wads, though. I punched out the wads, then poured lube over them in a small butter tub. Same difference really, although I wonder if the wads would be easier to punch out of the felt if they were already soaked with lube. Either way, they came out nicely, and lubed wads are MUCH easier to deal with at the shooting bench than over-the-ball lube.

What specific size should I hone my .44/.45 wad punch to?
I have a squad of Pietta Colt/Remmie revolvers & pair of ROAs.
I intend to do the majority of loading "off frame" using a Black Dawg cylinder loading press.

I notice you are using a traditonal recipe however lard can be substituted for lambs tallow and still be considered traditonal
I would cheat a little and use crisco with the bees wax and just call it tallow:D

Tallow, Lard or Crisco they all serve the same purpose.

bees wax and crisco also makes good patch grease too.
