Posting this at a few places where I post.

The fine folks at M4Carbine bought this for my son who has leukemia (ALL). It will become de facto his when he reaches legal age, good Lord willing!

We surprised him and I think I almost scorched his retinas with the light :)

I thought so as well. These "gun nuts" seem to have a lot going for them, notably in the kindness department. :)

I tried to find out if he can legally possess/own it NOW in KY and I think he can.

I lol'd at:

1. The headset.
2. The facebook beeps.
3. When he wondered if the new gun in plastic was loaded. I'm glad he treats ALL guns, even ones in plastic, as loaded.
4. His emphatic "thank you" as he pointed it at the camera.

BTW, have him pull back the slide first instead of just pushing down on the slide release and letting it slam. It sounds cool but it wears the slide release down.

That was very nice. I'm sure he'll love the Colt. They are very nice guns.

Best wishes to your son.

An excellent gesture for a young man who was probably ready for some good fortune. We'll look for the next video update of father and son at the range.

Thanks folks!

The guys at M4Carbine amazed me. 1K for the pistol and >200 bucks for the Wilson Combat Mags. They wanted to buy it for his '1 year diagnosis anniversary'.

Seeing my boy's face was worth a million to me :)

Keep praying for us, please.

That was one heck of a nice gesture on their part. Gun and mags and all. Did he get the rest of the AR in the other vids that I seen the upper for?

Not yet. I told him maybe at the first of October or November.

BullfrogKen and others: We are very grateful for prayers and well wishes. He and his mom are in Memphis (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) today the left at 4:50 am as it's a ~3 hr. drive from us. He will not leave for home until ~6:30 pm. Long day of chemo and fluids, today. He'll be sick when he arrives home :(

What a great gift. My best to your and your family. Let us know how it shoots.

Hopefully he stays in remission forever. That's a parent's dearest wish. St. Jude's is one of the best places to be for treatment. Which reminds me I have to send in their usual donation request. I also have a Curing Childhood Cancer license plate on one of my cars.

Hint: I hope everybody reading this thread donates to St. Jude's. Not only do they do a great job working with sick kids but they also are in active research looking for a possible cure.

Andy's doctor is Dr. Pui. I believe him to be, demonstrably, the preeminent ALL Dr. extant.

St. Jude's Children Research Hospital went from being the saddest place on earth to the most hopeful for me. The staff and the hospital is tops in my book. Donate until it hurts and then donate more! We, too, donated long before our son became a patient.

I showed Andy the replies, thanks all!
