AGC has built 2 new 8 inch variants of their 6 inch Diablo howdah pistol and it's named the Desperado.
The video says that it has a larger rubberized grip and longer hand guard.
They've also introduced a new sabot/wad and slug for it.
The Desperado is being offered in both 12 gauge and 20 gauge. --->>> https://americanguncraft.com/products/

Here's an article about the Desperado testing done by the folks in the video: --->>> https://www.internationalsportsman....esperado-review-black-powder-12-gauge-pistol/

For those not familiar with the Diablo, here's a thread with video reviews about it.--->>> https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...powder-pistol-from-american-gun-craft.857140/

Their 6 inch barrel models have nice wooden stocks.
I don't know why they don't offer a choice.

Even the Diablo grips with the wood finish are synthetic.
The product description states:

"Stock Grip Finish: Synthetic Grips – Brazilian Rosewood finish." --->>> https://americanguncraft.com/product/diablo-break-open-blued-finish-12-gauge-pistol-rosewood-grip/

They haven't offered the Desperado with the wood finish grips yet, or the chrome finish.
Maybe because the black grip is made out of solid rubber instead of plastic, and the Desperado hand guard is longer.

That would make one beast of a sidearm. A contemporary howdah pistol.
Doesn't matter either that it is a muzzle loader: when a tiger jumps in your howdah on the back of your elephant, if you don't get the tiger with the first shot, you might get a second but you're not likely to get off more than two shots.

That’s good logic that gets lost in a modern age of high capacity with high foot pounds. People forget that men survived unimaginably tough situations with little more than muzzle loading arms, revolvers, and blades. Of course we should have the uninfringed right to bear ANY modern arm, but it’s foolish to treat old arms as underpowered somehow when history bears out their adequacy over and over again.

They are less powerful but you aren't wrong that they are still powerful.

More people need to realize that you probably aren't gonna get 15 shots if you have to defend yourself against animals, you get maybe 2 but expect 1.
