Excellent again. You sure had me wondering what the heck that was on the barrel.

Since I don't use Wonder Wads either, I'm not the guilty party!:D Nothing wrong with them, I just prefer over ball lube. Some folks like liver and onions, I'm not in that crowd either.

Very good. I liked the historic recap.

I solved the loading lever falling by taking a hacksaw blade and deepening and squaring up the notch on my Uberti 3rd model.

It is funny what you don't notice....

I just watched this video for the first time since I up-loaded it to YouTube and I see that I forgot to take off my 1911.

Oops!!

i wonder if it would be better to blast at a paper target instead of a gong?

I was contemplating a Dragoon, but seeing it has the same loading lever problem as a Walker, i dunno...

Love the vid as always. :D

Great video. The historical background info was quite interesting as well.

I also watched your 1851 Colt Navy video and immediately ordered a London model from Cabelas. You should get a commission!

I just got a Dragoon a month or so back...first thing I fixed after the first shoot was that 'falling load-lever' thing!

Was watching some u-tube videos of a guy shooting two Walker replicas...he had some sort of lever/knee drill to snap the levers back up on his two big lever-dropping revolvers..

My 'new' great big Dragoon is an Uberti made third model clone...Dropped the lever a bunch, not just with 40-50 gr charges..35gr could too.

I looked at the latch mechanism...and it was setup with very little preload on the spring. I put a appropriate diameter aluminum spacer in the latch-spring hole in the end of the lever and stuffed the spring and latch back into the lever.

This pretty much cured the lever-drop with 40-45 gr charges..but full chamber 50 gr charge could still drop the lever..so I may file the notch on the barrels dovetailed latch-notch piece too...or maybe see if I can find a stiffer spring.

I have an Uberti 3rd Dragoon and the loading lever has never dropped through some 150 rounds. I also have an Uberti Walker and believe it or not, the loading lever has never dropped on this gun through some 100 rounds. After hearing everyone else’s loading lever woes, I consider myself lucky.
