I won a pound of this at a match.

The only Vita powder I'd tried before was a pound of the 340, loading it for .45 ACP. I liked it, but not enough more than W 231 to buy any more.

Looking at the online information from the company, the only caliber they list for N 330 that I reload for is .38 / .357, and I only see .38 loads, 3.6 grains for 840 fps with a 148 LWC and 3.7 for 875. I normally load my .38 target loads a little lighter than that.

Does anyone have experience downloading this powder with the 148 LWC?

N330 & .38 Spl.

It is probably a bit slow for light loads like you mention in the .38. I got their 95 2nd edition Manual free from Powder Valley with a purchase and it shows a start load of 3.2 grs. for 731 FPS and a max load of 3.6 for 828 FPS with a 148 LWC. The online data shows 3.6 to 4.1 for N330 and a 158 Gr. LSWC-HP. ( 787 to 883) Their Cowboy Data doesn't show any load with N330. It does show loads with N310 & N320. This just reinforces (to me anyway) that N330 is too slow for light loads in the .38 Spl. :uhoh:

I bought some N330 and N320 to try in the .45, .40, and 9mm because N340 did not give me what I wanted. In my old Hornady progressive it filled the 9mm cases so full it jossled out when the shellcase rotated. In the .45 it has showed promise though. In the .40 it gave more recoil at the same velocity as Universal Clays, although it shot well.

My suggestion is to use the N330 for your .45 and stick with something else for your light .38 Spl. loads. :)

The on line information didn't list any .45 ACP loads for N 330 unless I missed them. It did have some .45 Colt loads. Is there a good source for some ACP loads? I may have been looking at an old vita page on line.

You are right. They do not show any. I am going to try it as its burn rate should be superb for .45. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe they skipped it for a reason. I am going to find out. They do not show any in the .40 for weights over 155 either. I am going to try N320 first but then N330 for full velocity stuff in .45. I bought it mainly to try in 9MM. I already tried N340.
