OReiley says to AG about "yeah..buy guns online"....to which the AG of Virginia says "no, bill, you cant dirrectly buy guns online"

yes, OReiley is an idiot, ....

However i sure as hell CAN buy handguns and AK47s online WITHOUT going thru any FFL.

I used to sell a good portion of guns online thru AR15.COM in the equipment exchange/sell section...... not for profit, but i am a gigantic gun nut, ...id get rid of about 30 guns a year in my collection, just to buy another gun i wanted....always lose money in the process of course....

id ALWAYS ship only to an FFL when i got the FFL in my hands... which would then be transferred to the person/buyer.

Id get all sorts of crap-talk against myself for stating in my adds "NO FACE TO FACE SALES"!!!!!!! period..

people would email me and call me saying, "what the F is your problem with no face to face sales?? ehh?.....".

Id even get obvious CONS calling me from 600+ miles away saying theyre going to "Drive down to pick up the gun from me"....

to which i would reply "like hell you are......."!

Suuuure, youll spend $150 on gas to get the gun instead of pay $25 shipping and $25 transfer fee??????? Obviously you are a CONVICT.........ie "to hell with you..no im not selling this gun to you".

however there are 100 face to face sales that go down on AR15.com EVERY DAMN day, i know it, cause ive seen it every day for the past X number of years.........they talk about where to meet on the exchange boards, right there on AR15.com

who cares about the BS "gun show loophole", .....i know DAMN WELL that CONS are trolling AR15.com to buy guns "face to face", or "dirrect mail" to them.........

I even got a call from , what im 100% sure, was ATF agents trying to buy "multiple guns" from me online, and do dirrect mail to them......im not falling for that, even if i was sure they werent ATF, im not breaking the law just to peddle a $400 used glock to anyone.....be it CON, or ATF agent trying to do entrapment.

I know a local ATF agent who does the "guns" locally, told me outright they troll AR15.com, why? they know damn well how many guns are sold there every hour on the hour.....

I dont sell at gunshow to anyone, not that i oppose it,....nor break any laws in transferring a gun legally to an FFL who then does the transfer.......but the notion that yuo cant get a gun ONLINE without going thru an FFL is a giant damn joke from the pits of hell, as any in the know can tell you......

Crazy ass friend of mine has admitted to many "face to face" sales to people after listing a gun on Ar15.com.........i told him hes a damn nut for doing it..........asked him "well, if that gun ends up in a crime and the ATF sticks your ass in a sling for selling a gun to a KNOWN CONVICT..... , what then?"..

.........he shrugs it off, as if , 'what are the chances of that happnin?'.......

I don't think finding a seller online and then meeting for a face to face sale is "buying a gun online" any more than seeing a pop-up ad for Snickers and taking a drive down to 7-11 to raid the candy isle would be "buying chocolate online".

I think to point here is that you can not legally buy a gun directly online as in "click to add to your shopping cart and pay with VISA and get it dropped on your doorstep in 3 days"

Yup thats what Bill seemed to be claiming. After the AG told him 'no' he then tried the 'well you could meet up with X person and then...' well Bill then its not really 'buying online' its a setting up a private sale. Different from state to state, most allow it, but you gotta use discretion. Would I sell a 200 dollar 9mm to a guy I dont know dressed in thug clothes with his pants down around his ankles? Hell no.

funny... as I did just that the other day getting a M44 dropped off at my front door by the UPS guy

of course I have C&R but it shows what can be done.

Nice. So what other "loopholes" do you folks have that the anti-gun people will want to close?

Don't be shy. There aren't more than a few million people who can read these messages so it's like you're talking to family. Let it all hang out. It makes gun ownership more exciting and challenging. :)

Gun ownership is neither exciting nor challenging It is simply a right.

and having the UPS guy leave a 3 foot long box on my back step is part of that
even though I had to get an FFL to do so :fire:

Absolutely. Say it loud and clear so O'Reilly and others can challenge it. The best part is that you might get to tell Bill O'Reilly that he's wrong and you're right. Then he'll say, "Oh gee, I was wrong." It's good fun. Maybe he and Rosie O'Donnell will say it together, or perhaps get Carolyn McCarthy on to make it a trio. They're all reasonable people so it's good to have as many opportunities as possible to straighten them out.

Do more. It's fun to strut in public. :)

So it's war then?

Otherwise you'd better lay off a guy who's simply stating facts. In a discussion forum. There's much more practical ways to fight the anti's than to insist on ignorance among your own ranks. 'Head in the sand' comes to mind.

"The first casualty when war comes is truth". Hiram W Johnson, California, US Senate in 1917-1945.

"When war is declared, truth is the first casualty." 1928 Arthur Ponsonby

"Among the calamities of war may be jointly numbered the diminution of the love of truth, by the falsehoods which interest dictates and credulity encourages." Samuel Johnson, The Idler, 1758

______________

You have a C&R. That's a FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE. Of course dealers can order guns and have them delivered. Cute rebuttal, but pointless.

That's not what they were discussing on the show.
