VCDL will pin his ear back.
Virginians!!!
Get the vote out.
And if at all possible, please show up in Richmond for Lobby Day in January. We need a massive turnout this year; numbers have declined the last few years since we've had some successes... but we need to make our numbers seen and felt more than ever.
Details on the VCDL webpage.

"Soooo...exactly how many times has someone been shot in Virginia state government buildings (or anywhere else) by someone who is legally carrying?"

There...fixed it for you.

This is executive branch agencies which are overseen by people appointed by the Governor or report to Cabinet members appointed by the governor. Also he appears to be claiming some of these actions are emergency measures allowable by the Code of Virginia.

Like I said earlier I am not sure the legislature has enough pro2A voters to overturn his vetoes. He certainly won't sign any bills overturning his EOs, or any other pro 2A laws.
Until we get another 2A friendly Governor we must rely on the courts to overturn his actions. 2 more years until he is gone and just hope we don't get another Wilder, Warner, Kaine of McAuliffe in office. Also hope the VA legislature stays in control of 2A friendly forces.

One big factor IMO for McAuliffe being elected was the corruption charges against outgoing Republican Governor , Bob McDonnell and his wife .

Cuccinelli , also received some negative press form that .

Easy there...Northern VA is the population center for the state despite Richmond and rural areas. Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun are liberal havens in an otherwise red state, however the situation is much the same as Chicago Illinois. They control the vote.

Time for a state's version of the federal Electoral College.

Not everyone in Virginia voted for the New York Carpetbagger. I certainly didn't. I heard of too many stories of what these carpetbaggers did to the south after the War between the States. Our biggest problem is that more and more of his kind are moving to Virginia and essentially out numbering the Virginians who love Virginia as she is. It has always been my opinion that the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General should be native born Virginians. My opinion is that if what they left is so good they want to re-create it here then why did they leave in the first place? I am certainly glad that he can only serve one term at a time (can not have consecutive terms).

Just got word that Concealed Carry is now banned as well.

Executive Branch agencies are now gun free zones.

Seems there was absolutely no chance for the public to voice their opinions on this.

Just sent this to my State Senator. Need to find a means of contacting my delegate, because she is brand new this year.

I am writing you today concerning Governor McAuliff's Executive Order 50. Originally the Executive order banned the open carry of firearms in state offices, but he has allowed the Department of General services to extend the ban to concealed carry as well, regardless of permit.

This is a dangerous precedent which sets up gun free zones in our public buildings. These buildings are funded by the people of Virginia. The people of Virginia have the right to defend themselves. Gun free zones are easy targets for mass shootings and terrorists. The majority of mass shootings occur in areas which already banned the possession of firearms by law abiding citizens.

This sort of regulation will do nothing to stop those so inclined from bringing firearms into state buildings and causing mayhem and death. This regulation will only ensure that law abiding citizens will not have the means to defend themselves and stop active shooters while in public state buildings.

Furthermore, to ban conceal carry, even with permit shows that Governor McAuliffe does not respect the authority of the Virginia Legislature in allowing these permits to be issued to law abiding citizens who have passed background checks. It shows that Governor McAuliffe does not respect the authority of the judges who have signed off on issuing these permits.

Please consider doing anything within your power to block this Executive Order and any future actions which may prevent law abiding citizens from protecting themselves in our public buildings.
