Anyone have experience with the Strike fire Red Dot? I am looking at putting one on my AR and am wondering how it performs. How well does it stay zeroed after continuous use? What is the optimum sight in range?
I am planning on mounting it to a standard carbine length AR-15 with picatinny rail sight mount. I am looking only to shoot to probably a 100 yards or less so would this scope suit my purposes for mid range shooting or CQB? I obviously want a scope that will allow for modest distance but would not interfere with close range shooting.
The reason I'm considering the strike fire is primarily price. I know there are probably better optics out there but I can't really afford to splurge 500$ on a red dot.
Any feedback is appreciated.

I have one on my 9mm RR Carbine that I use for steel plate matches from 15-50 yards. Engaging 6" round plates to full size pepper poppers and I have no problem hitting any of them with the size of the sight picture and I use the green dot option as it stays brighter in open full sunlight.

I have the original StrikeFire. I really like it as an affordable alternative to an AimPoint. The option to switch between red and green is nice. The lower 1/3 cowitness mount helps keep your head up. So far, when the battery gets low, it fails "on", in that you can't turn it off until you replace the battery, kind of a good thing, IMHO. As a counter argument, I would also look at the Sig Romeo5 / Holosun. It has the shake-awake feature, better battery life, lower profile, and less weight, but only has red LED, lower mount height without a riser, and smaller lenses, which mean head position is more critical when shooting from awkward positions. Both have pros and cons, but either should serve you well.

I put one of the original strikefire dots on my first AR. It's still on there. I eventually put the vortex 3x magnifier behind it.

Always worked fine. Battery life isn't the best but it's not that big of deal. It's still on that old gen 1 M&P Sport.

I never torture tested it or anything but it has had a good 5k through that before I upgraded to different rifle.

I had the original Strikefire on my AR I keep a dedicated 22LR upper on. Seemed like every time I laid it down it would hit the side switches and turn the damn thing on. Sold it and bought the Strikefire II that has the on off buttons on the back instead of the side. I doubt you could beat it for the price.

Bought the original for my first AR and realized after many years that it was heavy, bulky, and needlessly so. I much prefer the SPARC or any of the newer offerings from Primary Arms, Sig, etc.

The StrikeFire worked fine, I gave it away still functioning as always, but I don’t miss it.
