Can I mount a Vortex Strikefire on a Ruger 22/45 assuming the Ruger has a picatinny rail? I want a RDS + Handgun set up to shoot with my father as his eye problems restrict his use of iron sights and I just like the look of a pistol with a scope. I've never handled the Strikefire, how heavy is it? Would it imbalance the weapon? Am I better off going with the Vortex Sparc for $50 more? It is markedly smaller though I'd take a wider FOV over optic size any day.

Thanks.

I took a look at a strikefire over the weekend. It's light and Vortex products are awesome!!! However, the field of view is pretty narrow. It's a tactical optic designed to be shot with both eyes open. It works like a Ghost ring sight, the ring sort of just blurs out. In any event the strikefire is going to be really big on a handgun.

The Strike Fire is going to be very big for a handgun especially a 22. I haven't seen the Sparc but reading the dimensions thats probably a better fit.
