Is anyone here running one of these? Nutnfancy gave it a pretty favorable review, but I've not been able to put my hands on one, so I was hoping to hear fom someone who has had one and used it for a while before I bought one sight unseen.

Thanks

I have one on a Colt/Umarex .22lr M4, nice little sight that does its job. Holds its zero and plenty bright in the sunlight.

They work pretty well. I helped a neighboring agency setup their patrol rifle program and they went for the Strikefire to outfit their patrol rifles. So far they've survived 2 years of patrol, and hold zero very well. For the cost, if you're not going to be beating on them, I think they are a very good alternative to an Aimpoint.

I think they're great even if you do beat on them, the warranty covers that. Had mine for 2 years if memory serves atop an AR with no problems. Chose the SPARC for my son's 10/22 TD recently and it too is a good little optic. I've mounted both at different times on a Beretta Neos .22 pistol as well.

If you decide to buy, keep in mind there are 4 versions; 2 in red dot only, 2 switchable red/green with the variation being ring height. The tall is an absolute co-witness on my AR.

I've got a red only Strikefire on my 556/223 Stag. I have had no problems out of mine at all. It mounts up solid, holds zero well, and basically works as advertised. I do not beat on mine much, though. I don't like the flip caps or battery power switch location, but I can live with that for the price. If I were in the market for a sub $200 dollar red dot style optic again, I would buy it again without hesitation.

I have one on my nicest AK and have been very pleased with it. Only downside I've found to it so far is the power buttons can be easy to hit on, and the caps have to be pressed hard to seat them down all the away, but wouldn't hesitate to get another. They even come with a magnifier if you want it without having to purchase one separately. I'd say go for it.

I had both the Strikefire and Bushnell TRS25. I sold the TRS25 and kept the Strikefire. Mine is the red/green vesion and I use the green dot.

Both the Strikefire and SPARC have good reputations. I chose the SPARC because the dot can be adjusted down to 2 MOA vs only 5 MOA on the Strikefire. It makes precision shooting much easier at longer ranges.

I have two Strikefires. They work fine. I'll try the Sparc
next, because of the 2MOA dot and it's smaller size. The
Vortex warranty is one of the best.

Thanks for all the replies guys! You've all made up my mind. I'll start looking for a good deal on one and pull the trigger as soon as I find one.

I have a Strikefire on my dedicated .22LR AR-15. It's a great optic for that use. Only real downside is the fiddly buttons and the relatively short battery life (compared to an Aimpoint). The glass is also not the clearest.

For about $200 more, you can have a VASTLY superior Aimpont PRO (which I also own).

ive got two of them and three aimpoints. the vortex arent the sight the aimpoints are but at a 1/3 the price they shouldnt be and theres not another sight made in that price range that compares to them.

I recently purchased a Strikefire and am happy with the quality of it so far. I have not shot with it yet but hopefully this weekend I will. The only thing that I didn't like was how difficult it was to close the lens caps, but a tiny bit of silicone grease around the caps helped and they now close nicely. Mine is the bright red only model with the high mount for the AR.

I'm on #2, first one didn't make it pass one mag, send it back and was quickly send back a new one that has ran with no problems for two years on my AR. Hard to beat for the price point.

I went with the SPARC last week... I wish it were slightly larger personally, but it will work...

That's 2&1/4 X the price. Also, where can you buy a aimpoint pro for $350?

PSA had them on sale for ~$350 a while back. I believe they are selling them for $399 now.
