VPC targets the S&W 500

I find it interesting that they didn't even buy some vests and the gun and fire a few shots. Bullet shape has a little bit of an effect on kevlar penetration.

So, has real-world testing proven that the more powerful .500 S&W Mag loads can reliably penetrate Type IIIA armor?

Edit: And yes, I know they're full of crap. I'm just curious about real-world results.

You actually think there are panty wetting VPC she-males capable of watching someone fire such a beast? Much less pick one up and shoot it themselves?

There are some gun nuts that are too intimidated to fire the thing, what do you think it does to the brady bunch?

They have no interest in facts or truth. Their tactics employ only fear based emotionalism to exploit the sheep.

I would be suprised if the VPC or any gun grabbers actually did any tests/studies.
That said, I'm also really curious about the vest penetration capabilites of the .500 Mag -- it does seem like a very wide bullet. :scrutiny:

500 S&W

What happens is the round is so powerful that it causes severe internal trauma when it impacts the vest. The user then dies of liquified internal organs. The vest doesn't need to be penetrated. You guys should know the sheer power of the 50 cal by now...

What's really funny is that they fail to mention that this is a $1k+ pistol, and the rounds cost more than $1 each.

Funny that they leave that little tidbit out.

These gang bangers usually use .32 or .38 cheap revolvers. They aren't going to spend $1k on a .500 they cant conceal and weighs 5 lbs.

You're confusing the facts and logic with gun control.

What a puff piece - one of the better examples of "lies, damned lies, and statistics" I've seen in a while.

Lotsa nice, fancy graphs and charts that don't say much or prove anything, doesn't appear to be any real world data beyond what you can find at any ammo mfr's website.. Was it just me, or were there a lot of blank pages? Clearly, these folks went to the Michael Moore School of Selective Factual Persuasion.

The article claims "almost 1 out of every 5" LEO's is killed with "a cartridge introduced by Smith and Wesson," the .40 SW, the .357 mag, and the .44 mag. Wait, the .44 mag? Wasn't that, oh, Remington? Hence, .44 REM mag?

While thats funny, I think you're missing the real deception here.

"almost 1 out of every 5" LEO's is killed with ... the .40 SW, the .357 mag, and the .44 mag.

This is a fun trick with statistics ... lets say that 1 of every 5 LEOs killed is killed with his own sidearm ... that would mean that the .40SW in that list kill most of them followed by a few .357 mag since thats what cops carry.

Lets say that one year there is a police officer killed with a .577 Tyrannosaur ... a freak event to say the least.

Using their little trick we could argue therefore that "One out of every 5 LEOs is killed by either a .40SW, .357mag or .577 Tyrannosaur" And since one of every 5 LEO's is killed with one of those rounds we get to pretend that the .577 Tyrannosaur is used more often then it is. Its not technically a lie, but yet it is.

White lies, damnable lies and Statistics

Has this gun ever been used in a single crime?

Oh, there you go again! Trying to inject rationality into a perfectly pleasant hysterical screech from the leftist extremists!

In all seriousness: I'm sure it hasn't yet been used in a single crime, or it would have been front page news in all the leftist extremist so-called "news" papers.
