Anyone playing with Vihta-Vuori N330 and .45ACP? If so, could you please share your observations.
So far I have one good load which is 6.0gr of N330, WLP, Berrys 200gr SWC and any old case. I started at 5.5 which is a nice plinking load but only provided 90% function in my 1911 with stovepipes becoming a problem when a full mag was slowing the slide down. The revolver seemed to like them though . Accuracy with both was quite acceptable, my only accuracy test thus far being running a cylinder through the 625 single action at 25yds. Both exhibited some unburnt powder in the case, but very little in the action. Very clean too, not much of any soot or crud in action, cylinder face or barrel. I'm going to make a .1 gr series from about 6.2 to 7.0 to see what I like. I guess at some point I need a chrono session. My calibrated feel says that the 6.0 easily makes USPSA power factor.
I selected 330 to have a good powder for 9mm and .45. I could have picked 320 also, I'll try that in a month when this 4lbs. dries up.
