I'm upgrading from a cheap 3-9 simmons, so anything is going to look much better through my eyes.. Just wondering if the VX-III is worth the price difference?

Right now I'm thinking of a VX-II, 3-9x40, Matte finish, German #4 reticle

and it might as well get a leupold, because I can get them for half off retail

but, I'm on a budget.. so.. discuss.

I really like the VXIII

I think the image quality is a bit sharper with the VXIII and I like the finger adjustable wind/ele knobs. The adjustments seem more percise as well. I would get the best scope you can afford, but either way you'll be much better off than with the Simons.

Have a good day,

Matt

the vx-3 is awfully nice, and worth it, i think.

the vx-2 is probably the best buy for a scope.

you can't go wrong, either way. if you can swing it, go w/ the 3. if not, be satisfied that the 2 is a dandy scope.

yes, especially since you can get older vx3 models very cheap

The VXII will be roughly equal to an older VariX-III. The VXIII is nicer than the VariX-III.

Look at the Sightron SII 3x9/42. It's better than the VXII/VariX-III and probably equal to a VXIII, IMO - and all for $200.
