Tell me what you think.

I'm also thinking about "They'll all be assault weapons one day" or something along those lines.

use senator kennedy's words when he was talking bout 30-30 ammo and how he commented it was ammo for sniper rifles and assault weapons armor piercing ammo to kill cops. ban during the c-span issue and poison pills they introduced during the firearm liability bill earlier this year.

I think the theme and the ending phrase are great! As others have suggested, another type of gun might work better. Something more modern and not associated with the military - bolt action scoped 'hunting' rifle perhaps? If you took out the war reference in the opening and changed the gun it might have more appeal to your audience. The two items are obviously related.

I'll be looking forward to your next work as much as I do Oleg's.

When you get a final design you ought to make up some bumper stickers. Or at least make it so we can download & print it for vehicle windows.

How about an M24 or M40 sniper rifle, with a Remington 700 (scoped) right under it? Both with black synthetic stocks...hard to tell apart.

I think some sort of blackpowder military rifle, like whatever the Civil War standard was, or an Army issue levergun would work too. Maybe a blackpowder rifle, lever gun, 1903, and a hunting riflle,

that was funny,"THE 30-30 CAN GO RIGHT THROUGH POLICE VESTS SO ITS
ARMOR PIERCING" the vests are only ment to stop handgun rounds p to a certaint caliber, not high powered rifles

god i hated him :cuss: but i liked listening to his bull????? when i needed a laugh

While I personally like the poster very much, I think its use could backfire if it were placed in locations where the non-shooting public could see it.

Recall the thread here recently where a non-shooter found a 22LR cartridge in his garden, came unglued, and posted a photo of the cartridge to a board that he frequents. The other posters, also not shooters, thought that this was an extremely dangerous situation.

Point being, the general public has no idea what an assault weapon is, and if Dianne Feinstein tell them that a Springfield is one, well, she's the senator. I could easily picture a non-shooter saying "Good God! You mean *that* rifle isn't banned, too?!?!"

Tim

Good point.

However the poster is not aimed at the general public, but at lackadasical "hunting/clay bird shooting" gun owners who can't be bothered to help us preserve our rights.

This is my 5 minute take on waking up the masses.

Keep the "sniper rifle" part. It adds emphasis, and points out that when it comes to the anti's, a name is just the beginning.

When you are playing on your enemies turf by their rules, you cant help but lose. We need to take our rights back.

Third_rail, I like it. I would change the font though, and make the quote bigger. Just my $.02

They are all good. Olegs must be reasonably new. I haven't been to his site in a couple of weeks but I don't remember seeing those. I think we ought to mass produce them, get people from THR, AFCOM, & were ever else to purchase them the hand them out at gun shows, gun shops & anywhere else we can think of.

ThirdRail, I think that is perfect without the two sentences at the bottom. The top phrase, the gun and Kennedy's words are enough.

I'd love to make some copies of it..will hand them out at shows/meetings, and would also like to give some to my Hunting is What Guns Are For buddies.

Barbara, like this?

I have Photoshop and too much time. If anyone has any ideas, do tell.

Also, I'm sorry for hijacking the thread.
