I woke up Saturday morning and turned on the tv. On ESPN2 was programming called ESPN Outdoors. Nothing special there. However when the commercials started I was quite surprised at what I saw. Walmart was advertising itself as a ammunition dealer. The ad showed shooters doing their thing and praising walmart for having all the ammunition they could ever need. Both hunters and cowboy action shooters were shown.

I've heard various discussions on whether or not Walmart was Anti. After seeing this commercial, I'm positive they are not.

Anyone else see the commercial?

PS. Walmart produced whatever the show was (I didn't catch the name as I tuned in as it was ending).

Kmart here sells ammo for rifles, pistols and even muzzleloading components. They even sell bricks of Federal Lightning .22LR for $7.70 per 500. Nearly the best deal in town.
Only Kmarts in liberal blissninny towns (or those where ammo isn't profitable) have that ammo policy.

on subject of CAS shooters in ad

i remember when the gentlemen involved in this ad were first asked to participate, they were very excited to put CAS on a nationally veiwed platform, other than American shooter, (A.S. is good but the more exposure the better, and A.S. left ESPN long ago) the main reason they did the Ad was exactly that EXPOSURE of the sport. to let folks know we were out there.

plus as one man put it "it's just down right fun knowing your gonna be on TV" :D

and just a factoid for those who don't know the most popular caliber in CAS is .38 special which most wal-mart have dripping out their ears. for the truly "period" rounds most guys use Black hills and get it from either the guy who they buy their revolvers from (most folks who sell Rugers Vaqueros and SAA clones will stock BH ammo) and or the gunshows. at least untill they start reloading (a must if you wish to not empty your bank account)

Dangit...the more people that know, the less chances of me being able to walk off with 15-20 boxes of 9mm 115gr ball per visit!!! :banghead:

I hate all these mega stores but if Walmart is not anti, I will shop there only. I never liked K-mart anyway. I didn't shop there because the help were rude and the isles were always crammed with stock, it looks messy and is a pian to get around. Die K-Mart!

A lot of people know about Walmart already. I was talking to the saleman at the ammo counter and he told me that one of the law enforcement agency just ordered several thousands of box of 9mm from Walmart. Apparantly Walmart is cheaper than the GSA schedule.

Used to be you could tell someone about the good price on 9mm ammo at Walmart and they would look surpised. Now its hard for them to keep any on the shelves.:( This commercial isn't going to help at all!:cuss:

Since I reload, I do not by much ammo at the Wal-Mart here, ( one of the first superstores in KS).
Last time I bought some .22 there, the clerk asked me what it was for, pistol or rifle. I told her it was for a machine gun. After pondering over that for a minute, she put down rifle. They will not let you carry it out from the department, but will have it at the service desk waiting for you. ***.
