Walmart Firearms Restocked

It does make me wonder if by moving them away from the potential customer, we won't ask to see a particular rifle, sales will drop, and THEN they can drop them due to lack of sales.

You are kidding aren't you? That would make a lot of sense. "Let's spend money to remodel the gun counter, to make it more inconvient for the customer to see them, which will drive down sales, which will let us claim that sales dropped so we can do away with gun sales."

It's a much better plan than just saying, "We're not going to sell guns anymore."

Around here they don't need to. The local gunshop owners drive themselves out of business.

Between insane price gouging ($700+ for a Taurus PT101), violations of Federal firearms laws and the terms of their licenses, rudeness and dishonesty toward their customers, there probably aren't half the dealers here that there were when I moved here in '86.

You can blame a lot of things on Walmart. Treating your customers like crap isn't one of them.

+1,000,000

I have to drive out of state, and 50 minutes just to get to a gunstore that has decent prices and doesn't treat me like a sack of S***.

Plus whatever!

Shooters in Mount Pleasant Texas was my favorite place. I would pay a little more because they were friendly, easy to deal with, and would haggle a bit. They went out of buisness.

All the other local gun and pawn treat ya like crap, think they no more and always I mean always try and screw ya.

One place in Pittsburgh Texas tried to sell me a mag spring for an 870 for right at $40.00. It was high because they had to order. How about Brownells, Midway, or even e-bay less than $10.00.

There are a couple of decent dealers around here that I give support to. The others are like some of the ones mentioned here. Knowitallsandholierthanthous who give crappy customer service. If Walmart sells something I want for a better price than the independent guy, then I'll buy it at Walmart.

Never bought a gun at Wally World. They actually used to sell pistols in my area. (ok 70 miles from home but I went by there weekly) They do seem to be selling LOTS of ammo lately. And prices going up. :(
I don't have lots of love for wally world but can't complain most of time either.
I seldom go to gun shops due to staff their. I can buy cheaper, easier, quicker via web and shipped to FFL. (cousin)

Have any of you checked the wal-mart website. They have a crap load of guns btw. What you see in the counter is not all they have.

Walmart is one of those companies everyone wants to talk about hating, but when no one is looking, we've all shopped there. Kinda like the moped joke.... heh.
