What are your thoughts/opinions on this Mid-Tech collaboration? I've been drooling over Walter Brend knives ever since Tamara posted a pic of her Brend/White Wolf auto.. Now that I have some money to toss at one, I must HAVE one. The thing is, I can't really swing a full-blown, custom Brend (such as a Model #2 which run $1-2K ) right now. I was thinking that this might be a good first "semi-custom" knife.
OBTW, this knife is not going to be used for anything special (like STHF/ hunting/ stopping El Tejon's brown bears, or fending off aliens. )

** Edit: The pic vanished; check out the link below for a pic.

Sorry. Tamara and I were hunting. :D

The top blade looks like a really good piece, though I would prefer no edge on the back.

I did a search over on Bladeforums and found some really good info..

Now that I'm starting a SHTF/bug out bag, the Brend is just gonna have to wait.. for now. Maybe I'll pick up a cheaper Al Mar Operator to fill its place.

John, did you and Tamara get anything? :D

Lately, I got two does. Took two armadillos Saturday night.

Tamara had less luck. :D As she put it, she was mooned by a deer as she was climbing out of the stand.

Had my best year ever, with 4 does and 2 bucks taken. Then again, I've spent almost all of two months hunting! Between the Army and school...classes start Thursday.

The mid-tech Brends are excellent knives. Walter is a cantankerous individual that wouldn't let anything have his name associated with it if he didn't approve of it.

Brend / White Wolf?

I have a knife with a Brend logo on one side and a W/K USA logo on the other. Is it worth anything? Cazman

cazman,

Welcome to THR.

Yes, your Whitewolf/Brend is worth a good bit if it's NIB. Only slightly less if it's lightly used. Walter's work is highly sought after.
