Walther 22lr change?

Is it possible to change spring(s) to shoot CCI 22 long CB's through a P22. I would like to fire these in the basement into a bullet trap. I have only changes springs in my SP101 and it was a piece of cake. Any thoughts good or bad.

It is very difficult to get a standard size .22 semi-auto to work with .22 Short ammo, let alone CB caps. Even with a very light recoil spring, steel slide guns require a change to an aluminum slide to reduce weight enough to get them to operate.

Powderless CB Caps do not have enough power / recoil to re-cock the hammer, let alone cycle the slide back shut & feed another round.

If you want to shoot CB caps, you will have to manually cycle the slide each shot.
