You picked a perfect time to dredge up the P22 thing. Friend's third P22, (yes third replacement pistol from S&W!) cracked its slide. S&W is saying this is it, no more replacements. This one was working the best out of all three (still not very well) up until its slide cracked. Another friend a few years ago had a P22 slide come apart hit him about 1.5" below his right eye. The only two people I personally know who have/had P22s, and both have had slide failures.

BTW, the most recent slide failure was not the 5" model. It was a regular 3.4" model.

I am sure he'd to sell it to you for a discount. He's quite happy with his Buckmark and probably wouldn't miss the Paperweight22.

Lots of folks love 'em and swear by 'em; lots of folks don't and swear at 'em. The P22, truth be told, is a toy on steroids. It's also not a Walther product but rather one made by Umarex, which is Walther's parent company; Umarex makes air guns, which ought to tell you all you need to know about the P22.

Seems to me that the forum has had dozens of threads on the P22, including several in the past few months alone.
