im looking for a neat little pistol in 22lr i have a sti 1911 that i love to shoot but it hits my wallet pretty hard so im thinking about getting a good little range pistol. is the p22 a good choice? i saw a few with suppressors, is there a special barrel you have to get to use a suppressor on one? thanks for the help

If you want a suppressor, you'll need to know the laws, and get a tax stamp.

The P22 has a threaded barrel already, you just need the adapter to make it fit a standard supressor. Plus an ATF tax stamp to buy the can.

I had a p22 a while back. Fun little piece. Lots of accessories for it, scope rails, suppressors, both real and fake, etc. Just make sure you get the right tpi adaptor for the barrel. Real or not it adds a nice balance to the pistol for target shooting. The only problem is it liked to unscrew itself after a few mags. The gun shot well, but as it got dirty I'd have to tap the back of the slide to get the round to seat all the way in the chamber. If you get the scope rail, you have to take it off anytime you want to disassemble the gun for cleaning. It goes back to zero when remounted though so no need to resight everytime.

Overall a good gun for the money that won't break the bank/

I say avoid them. They are a neat little gun but the slide is very weak and prone to breakage.
