If that slide is getting slow on the recoil/bullet pickup stage, your thinking it might be the recoil spring: Get some Gun Butter, comes in a small bottle with a 2 1/2" -3" needle on it, when you take the slide off, sparingly put some GB on the rails and the slide, it will make 100% difference in how that slide works. If you tear it down past that point, put just a smidgen on the other parts also, it truly made a world of difference in my Beretta 1935 .32 auto!
