Walther P38 Help!

I have a 1945 model P38 , and when I shot it,after a full mag,the firing pin cover came off...lost some parts(looked very hard)the firing pin post(andspring) were lost also..I purchased a new post,but it doesn't fit...my question is...."does it take old pre war parts are will it take after mkt " who is the best parts house for the old classics?

No such thing as a firing pin post. There is an FP retaining pin that's 'new' style and 'old'. I'm guessing a W.W. II vintage pistol will have and old style.
