If you have ever experienced malfunctions while firing your Walther P99 in .40 S&W and traced the problem back to the magazine or possibly the follower, you may want to read this little bit of info that was just learned from Walther Germany.

Walther P99/.40S&W Mag Info

You may have wondered why the different color followers. This will explain for those who don't already know. ;)

Let's not start slingin' crap over this or which caliber is better. :fire: Try to stick with the intent of the thread.

I have two of each color and caliber P99 and they are all equally as reliable.

I only put this out for informational pruposes for those who may or may not know.

Thanks for the information. I have mags with the orange followers and have had no problems after about 1,000 rounds, but it is nice to know if I do start to experience problems.

jw29650,

If you feel that you would like to have the latest and greatest, contact Walther America and they will swap you new mags for your old ones.
Just tell them that you are experiencing occassional feeding problems or pre-mature slide lock with the ones you now have. ;)

I'd like to add that getting the replacement magazines may not be a speedy experience. It depends on what is in stock at Walther America. I swapped two original magazines with orange followers, and it took a bit over a month to get the replacements. If you want to exchange them, but all you have are the original magazines, it's perhaps a good opportunity to buy some spare magazines. Kiesler's Online seems to have the best price: http://www.kieslersonline.com/product/ko_WaltherMags.asp
