I haven't seen a new ppk in any gun shops in a long while anyone know what's going on? Did the recall stop production? I like the new S&W except for the long tang. I wonder if it can be ground down to normal size.

They have a recall going on now so they have stopped shipping them until they can complete the recall repairs on tens of thousands of PPKs that are out there.

Supposedly, it will help prevent "slide/hammer bite"; like on my InterArms PPK with the normal tang.
I had to use a piece of emory cloth & a fine file to smooth over the sharp edges....You might be able to see it in the pic..

They sent them all back to 1987.

Seriously though, as good as the PPK was in its time, with its sleek design, I would have thought that Walther could have designed something in polymer, much better looking than the PPS, to replace it by now.

I guess its going to be the PK380. Pretty lame attempt really. Most likely though people wont want it because it wont be small enough.

Walther stoped making the PP and PPK in the 1980's . thats why if you see any they will be S&W PPK's
