Does anyone have this gun and/or carry it regularly? I handled one recently and really liked it. Any opinions on reliability and long-term dependability would be appreciated.

Had one it would not feed reliably even after 2 trips back to S&W so the bought it back. In it's favor it was very accurate.

I own a PPS

The gun has performed perfectly since day one. I have about 800 rounds through the gun without a single failure. I don't carry the gun very often because of its weight as I prefer pocket carry and my PM9 fits the bill perfectly. The PPS is a great gun, but it is definitely an IWB or belt holster carry weapon IMO.

I bought a used one and put a few hundred rounds threw it and sold it to my mom, Who uses it as a bedside firearm.
I carried mine in my back pocket with a leather protective cover and it was a close fit but would conceal well.
Mine shot well also, Never had any issues either.

I would think the .40 would have a pretty harsh recoil tho as its so thin.

I have the .40S&W model, picked it up used for $400 earlier this year. Great carry gun very reliable and easy to shoot. The slide release broke, but S&W sent the part and I replaced it in less than 5 min. I would recommend this pistol for carry in the 9mm or .40S&W. I carry it in a Crossbreed Supertuck very comfy setup.

BFD is correct. The PPS is a fine handgun and is as easy to carry concealed as anything on the market that also offers the same horsepower. I've got one in 9mm and another in .40 S&W. Good Walthers are the real deal, and the PPS is a good Walther, IMO.

I have 2 brothers and a niece who all carry the PPS in .40 cal. One brother and the neice have done classes with theirs and another will be doing a class with his this fall. All three love the guns and have not had any problems with them so far. Round count is still low on the guns. The most heavily used one has a little over 1,000 rounds through it in the last year.

I looked at the PPS before I bought my Kahr CW40. Certainly, Walther has an excellent reputation and the gun had a very smooth action to it, but the Kahr was very close and considerably cheaper. Size-wise the two are also very similar.

With that said, I would be happy to carry a PPS at the right price.

I have owned and carried my PPS 9mm for 1-1/2 years since I bought it NIB. It has been 100% reliable with no failures of any king. It is accurate, very easy to conceal and very easy to shoot. The high quality German manufacturing is impressive as well.

The Walther PPS is a very fine weapon!

I've been looking at these for a while, but was skeptical about the shooting characteristics after playing with one in a store. Yesterday at the range I met a fellow shooter who had one in .40, got to talking and he let me put a few rounds downrange with it: great gun! Very accurate, the recoil was no worse than my 6906 (which chewed up another 150 rounds without a hiccup, and is now running at optimum with a new recoil spring and all new factory mag springs) and the grip actually was very comfortable even with the .40. The PPS just got bumped to the top of my want list!

I bought one of the first thousand "Limited Edition" run of this pistol. Came with a nifty box and three magazines. Flatness of design has always been important to me and the PPS fits this requirement beautifully, as well as being light to carry. After a few hiccups it smoothed out an now runs flawlessly, to the point of "I'd never get rid of this pistol" status.
