Any of u guys actually handle and fired on of these puppies?
I went to the Walther forum, but of course, very few people there are going to post anything negative about any Walther pistol.

I fondled one yesterday at a gun show. At $399 I was very tempted. Most likely I'll get one at some point. I was after ammo, not guns, but if I had more money in my gun fund I'd have bought. Felt good and looked solid. Sights were disappointing though... modeled after the old PP sights, which are tiny and hard to use.

Not owning one I only have second hand information. They are not your fathers PPK/S. They are not steel but alloy and not even made by Walther ( well, to be fair most of the PPs and PPKs and PPK/S were not made by Walther ). Some people are turn off by that.

Walther PPK .22

I've had an original Walther for over 20 years. Great pistol. Fun to shoot. Accurate. And easy to clean. It has made me think I need to replicate it in .380, but I never have.

I haven't shot the new model. My PPK/S in .22lr is a dream to shoot in Single Action. I've heard that the new may look the same as the originals but function differently. But that's just here say, as I haven't shot a new one.

I have seen some videos of people shooting this weapon on YouTube seems like a lot of fun, but are 22s supposed to make that loud of a bang?

Short barrel .22 pistols are loud.

Not magnum center-fire loud, but loud none the less.

I've noticed a very high incidence / percentage of Morons on You-Tube where it comes to all things gun related.

As a consequence, I don't watch much You-Tube, nor was I present when the vid was filmed.

So I don't have a frame of reference as to how loud you think they might be on a video??

I was interested in getting one. My friend had one of the original, all steel PPK .22lr and I got to shoot it years ago.

I then found out that the new PPK/S is made by Umarex and features a zinc alloy slide. No thanks. IMO Umarex builds junk.

The new ones are not made by Walther. They are made by Umarex and are of mostly potmetal construction.

FAIL.

Just more air soft quality junk from Umarex...

They are not built by Walther.

I have owned a steel model PPK/S in .22L.R.for a number of years. It is a very accurate & reliable! Never have had any problems other than bad ammo. For its size it will surprise you with how accurate it can be! I have looked at the NEW MODEL & can only say I would not pay that price for it! You can pick up a much better gun for a lot less! JMO.

I have the new PPK/S Replica that is made by Umarex. Mine has been perfectly reliable through 1,300 rounds. I see no signs of wear anywhere, so Im not really concerned what its made of. The Double Action trigger pull is so heavy, its useless, but I have read cutting one coil off the mainspring makes it better. The Single Action trigger pull is nice and reasonably light. Since I would never use this pistol for defense, The Double Action pull is of no concern to me.

The pistol is very accurate. The sights could be better. Magazines are hard to find.

If this were to be your only 22 pistol, for the money, there are better choices.

I have alot of 22 pistols, so that isnt a concern for me. I like the Umarex PPK/S Replica just fine. It shoots great, is reliable, and gives you the PPK experience for hundreds of dollars less than an original.

I wish my P22 made with potmetal would break like everyone says it would... :)

PPQ in 22 is coming apparently...
It'll happen eventually. It may take 10k rounds but it'll happen. Even the Jennings J22 has been documented to go 8k-10k rounds before having a slide failure.

The difference is that the J22 costs $100 so I think it is acceptable to expect a short lifespan. Anything that runs $400 should be decent steel or aluminum.
