Walther PPS?

the thread above shows my initial troubles. CLICK HERE for the final report. in the end, walther/s&w really took care of me. im even going back for another PPS when the standard black version is available.

I have looked at this gun, but right now it may be out of my price range. Gander Mountain is selling it for $800, even though the MRSP is something like $650. I like the feel of the gun and it appears well made. My one primary concern (aside from the price) is the warranty. It only comes with a 1 year warranty.

How's the trigger on these things? I still haven't heard how the trigger system works. All I have found is "pre-cocked, striker fired." Basically I want to know how it feels when pulled.

Does it have re-strike capability? Can you de-cock it for a true DAO pull and then cock it for a Glock-like pre-cocked trigger pull? Any info at all would be helpful since I can't get my hands on one. Thanks.

The design looks good, and Walther is a brand that makes only reliable guns from my experience. My P99 AS .40 was flawless. I just didn't like the gun in a .40. The only thing that might stop me from getting the PPS is the fact that I can get the same firepower for less money and less size with a PF-9, or you can even get a Kahr P45 and have 6+1 rounds of .45acp with virtually the same size gun. 1" wide, around 4.8" tall (PPS w/ 7rd mag), and 6" long. The P45 is a VERY controllable and accurate shooting gun too...heck you can even get a P9 that still has smaller overall dimensions and a 3.5" barrel.

Lots of good CCW options lately.. I'll have to shop around and check out the PPS before I make any decisions on what I should buy.

its like a glock, there is no decocker and there is no 2nd strike.

Any word on when the normal edition will be hitting dealers?
Supposedly around the end of the month, though the .40s&w version might be a little later than that.

normal version is priced very similarly though I believe--like $20 less or so msrp if I'm remembering right.

only a 1 year warranty? That's somewhat disturbing...

similar to a glock by design, but i prefer the glock trigger. on the glock the release and reset points are the same. on the walther the release is behind the reset so it requires a bit more travel to fire from reset.

Is PPS a good choice for a woman with very small hands and short fingers?

Thanks

the PPS is a perfect choice for a woman with small hands/short fingers. i have little girl hands myself. :)
