If the PPK comes in 7.65 mm, why is it considered an effective self defense gun? Is it because it is so concealable? 7.65 mm is really anemic, I would think .380 would be better. Does anyone know why it is now illegal to import PPKs?

A pistol chambered in .22 short with a 1 inch barrel can be quite useful in self defense. The .32ACP may not be the optimum handgun carttridge. but it's not "anemic". IIRC, it's the traditional chambering for the PP/PPK series. In the states, the .380 is much more popular.

I'm not up to speed on Kali laws, but I'd assume it's due to the recent handgun safety tests required.

Walther PPK has been banned from importation since GCA '68. It is not tall enough to meet the import standards. The PPK/S was introduced with PP butt and PPK barrel lengths to make it in. Then they tooled up to make them in USA. Our rulers have not yet succeeded in applying import requirements to domestic manufacture.

Thanks. That is just wrong. If I weren't only two in 1968 I would've tried to do something about it. It makes me want to try to find a PPK and buy it, just because I'm not supposed to have it.
